YW Powisle - Poniatowski Bridge Overarching Cars

Youngtimer Warsaw Powiśle (5).jpg

Despite living in Warsaw for few years, I have never managed to drop in on the Sunday Youngtimer Warsaw meet-ups at the Warszawa Powisle station. They were either cancelled or I could not join, so I was a frequent visitor at the National Stadium gatherings instead.

When I eventually decided to challenge the above, I was so positively surprised. There were crowds of people and hardly any place to park the car - only few minutes after the kick-off time! The variety of cars was also amazing. My sight was immediately attracted to the unique LaSalle Series 328, produced at the turn of 1920s and 30s. As a matter of fact, it does not only look stunning, but is also fast - it managed to travel 1’500 miles with an average speed of 150km/h in the long distance tests.

There were two Volkswagen Beetles, both in cabrio and coupe versions, few classics enrooted in the history of Polish motorization, such as few Fiats 126p and a lovely, turquoise Trabant with an all-female crew! Of course, there were also some american legends - a 1961 Chrysler 300G and about a decade younger Dodge Challenger. Both powered by the famous V8s, with a stunning 7.2 litres displacement for the former!

It has been a great day - check it out below!
