New Range Rover Evoque with Luiza Dorosz

WHY CHANGE THE WINNING FORMULA?

Range Rover Evoque was presented in 2011 and was simply a bull’s eye shot for Jaguar Land Rover.  The premium compact SUV confirmed that Range Rover brand is doing great and that the idea of a swift, smaller copy of their flagship car will sell in thousands of copies – namely 750 thousand, winning 217 awards.

Taking into account how well received was the first model and the fact that its original lines drafted by Julian Thompson aged well, the new Evoque simply could not have been a revolution. As you simply do not change the winning formula, new Evoque is a subtle evolution of its older brother. The exterior remained mostly the same, although some of the elements were stylized to better match the top-of-the-line Range Rover Velar. The design is exceptionally flawless, enhanced by the hidden, Tesla-alike doorhandles.

REVOLUTION IN THE INTERIOR, PACKED WITH TECHNOLOGY

Although on the outside the changes are cosmetic, inside the car we encounter a real technological revolution. The new Evoque is build using a very modern chassis, called Premium Transverse Architecture, adapted both to conventional combustion engines, plug-in hybrids as well as electrical engines.

The newest version of this exclusive SUV with Range Rover branding we can find two types of the ClearSight technology – called Ground View and Radar View. The former takes advantage of the cameras placed on the front grille, on the underside of side mirrors and gives 360 degrees view around the car. It will not only help maneuvering on narrow city roads, but also check the terrain those few, who decide to take their Evoque off-road. The second functionality uses the camera at the boot and transmits the signal onto the rearview mirror. It gives the driver an unobstructed view even when the rear seats are full of passengers… or cargo!

THE SHORES OF VISTULA RIVER – WITH LUIZA AND SPRING BREEZE

My first encounter with the new Range Rover Evoque was with Luiza Dorosz at a very cozy restaurant Boathouse, located on the easter bank of Vistula river. A place like this matches the spirit of the small SUV best. Despite the car having an off-road heritage and can definitely do well in light terrain, I am more than certain that a great majority of its owners will never take it from the well-bitten path. It would be in the middle of a city’s heartbeat, in front of fashionable cafes and restaurant where you will see Evoque the most. At the same time, it is difficult not to agree with such a turn of events – as surrounded by beautiful women and elegant men the car appears stylish and modern. Be the judge and take a look at the pictures.

But what if you decide to enjoy the new Range Rover Evoque just on your own? As it stands now there are three different versions of this compact SUV – basic Evoque, R-Dynamic and First Edition. The first is being sold for 155 900 PLN, if you were satisfied with a diesel coupled with manual gearbox, without any extras. On the other side of the spectrum there is the top-of-the-line First Edition, which is almost double of the starting price. More than 300 thousand Polish Zloty for a plug-in hybrid is a lot of money but… chic and elegance costs a lot.
