The E-Type Tuesday - Toldboden in August
Although the turn-up to Toldboden was pretty good overall, that day was burnt in my memory as ‘The E-Type Tuesday”. The Jaguars came one after the other – two V12s Roadsters and one 4.2l, inline-six Coupe. What a trio! I tried to picture them in the sun from all angles and understood why Enzo Ferrari called it “the most beautiful car ever made” when it debuted back in 1961. A very true statement, but I reckon he did not realize back then what beauties his company will produce.

Jags aside, there were other pearls, too. Small cars were represented by the lovely Autobianchi Bianchina Cabriolet and two smiling Austin Healey Sprites Mark I. The ‘grown-up’ classics, which attracted my eye, were most definitely the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, Morgan 4/4 and Maserati Ghibli – all three painted in stunning red!
Toldboden that day was full. People were chatting, drinking coffee and enjoying the summer. Children were playing around, performing impressive evolutions on the lifting hook nearby. Petrolheads and automobiles lovers had what they want most – another wonderful day with classic cars.
